Join us Friday, November 28, at 6 pm as we continue this cherished tradition with Mayor Pangallo, costumed carolers from History Alive, and the whole Salem community.

Santa’s Arrival and the Holiday Tree Lighting is one of Salem’s most beloved traditions, officially kicking off the holiday season in downtown Salem. Each year, families gather at Salem Common to watch Santa make his dramatic entrance atop the Hawthorne Hotel—with an assist from the Salem Fire Department—before leading a lantern-lit procession down Essex Street to Lappin Park for the lighting of Salem’s Holiday Tree.
